M O V I E   G I F T   B A S K E T S

There are many people that we encounter in our daily lives that go out of their way to do something nice for us. This is especially true in the workplace where a coworker provides assistance on completing a huge project to meet deadlines. Another great example is when a neighbor spends time and effort to help you install epoxy garage floor paint to spruce up the look of the often overlooked room. I used the latter example because a friend of mine recently helped me with this project and it turned out just great. As a token of appreciation, I decided to put together a movie theme gift basket for him and his wife. No matter if it’s something personal or work-related, movie gift baskets are a fantastic way to show your gratitude.

The reason why I chose to put together a movies gift basket is because my friend and his wife rent a lot of DVDs (at least 3-4 movies per week) and watch them in the comfort of their own home. Because I was already abreast of this of information living next door to them for many years, I knew exactly what they would appreciate. Of the many ways to put together a movie gift basket, I went with the following basket fillers for this project: 1 DVD of the movie 27 Dresses (they really like romantic comedies!), a movie theme gift card, microwave popcorn, a bag of pretzels, a box of red vines, a bottle of their favorite red wine and a Blockbuster gift card worth $10. All the items were placed in a wicker basket that I picked up from the local thrift shop and used some wrapping paper along with cellophane gift wrap for the final touches.

The entire project took less than 1 hour from start to finish once I had all of the supplies in hand. The cost of the items fell in the range of $35-$45 and was well worth the investment because the reaction on their faces was ever-lasting. The best part was that the next movie on their list to watch was in fact 27 Dresses. If you take the time to design a personalized movie gift basket, you can be rest assured that you will leave a long-lasting and well-appreciated impression on the recipient(s).
